Full-body rage: both fists in the air, gritted teeth showing. The katakana arms ヽ and ノ are raised high — usually a ‘yay’ shape, here repurposed as someone going ‘AAAHHH.’ The o characters next to the face act as cheeks puffed out with anger. Inside, the brow accents ` and ′ point sharply inward, and the centerpiece is 皿 — the kanji for ‘plate’ but used in kaomoji as a wide row of clenched teeth, gritted in fury.

This is the loud, theatrical anger kaomoji. Compared to the pouty ‘punsuka’ style, this one is doing maximum performance. The combined effect is closer to a cartoon character with steam coming out of their ears than to actual menace. The kanji 皿 mouth is one of the most recognizable ‘angry mouth’ kaomoji glyphs and signals serious cartoon-style rage.

Use it for over-the-top frustration that you want to share for comedic effect: someone ruining a game on Discord, a tweet about a pet ignoring you, a TikTok rant. The size and stance of the kaomoji make sure the reader knows you are exaggerating. Avoid it in genuinely serious conflict — the cartoonish style would undercut sincerity.

The Japanese matching word is おこ (oko — a slangy ‘angry’) or ぷんぷん丸 (pun-pun-maru — ‘Mr. Angry’). Pair with もうゆるさない! (‘mou yurusanai!’ — ‘I will not forgive this!’) or なんだと?! (‘nan da to?!’ — ‘what did you say?!’).
